Computer Requirements and Recommendations
Following are recommendations for operating systems, software, and network capabilities for using our courseware. The recommendations are based on our development and testing environments. It is possible that the courseware will work with other configurations.Operating System
Courseware was primarily developed and tested on Windows XP Professional and Media operating systems. It was also run successfully on Windows Vista Home Premium. VBA BasicsSoftware
You need the following software installed on your computer:- Microsoft Excel - course materials have been tested on MS Excel 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010. You must be running Excel since the courses deal exclusively with writing Excel VBA.
- Adobe Flash Player - the courseware relies heavily on tutorials created using Adobe Captivate. The exercises are run as Flash videos using Adobe Flash Player. Using the Courseware with Excel 2010 and 2007
VBATrain has developed a new version of the VBA Basics for Excel 2010. The Trip Planner course can also be taken using Excel 2010. Most of the instructions are applicable to Excel 2010; however, there are minor differences relating to the implementation of the ribbon architecture beginning with Excel 2007.The courseware can also be completed using Excel 2007 by proceeding through either the Excel 2000-03 or Excel 2010 version of the VBA Basics courses. Hence, some of the instructions in the VBATrain courseware, particularly the earlier version, do not apply in Excel 2007. We have addressed that issue by providing alternative instructions for Office 2007 coursware users going through the 2000-03 version of VBA Basics. Just click the following link:
